Lol - Blog was originally setup to follow the progress I made in my attempt to emigrate to Canada ... one snag there, girlfriend went a bit off the rails and now I'm stuck in the UK with no full time job ... no home a dog and a cat ... enjoy the trials and tribulations of i-r-paulus :)
I've left much of this as it was ... no edits ... so, if I reference something that later makes no sense ... it's more than likely becasue it makes no sense to me either :)
A change is as good as a rest ... or so they say ... well, I've had a rest, s'pose it's time for a change :)
Blogging restarts as from today ... going to let you all know whats on the mind of i-r-paulus ... yes, I know you never asked ... this is irrelevant ... file a complaint!
Today I have been updating the old website to show off a few of my skills I have (until now) hidden under a bushel (which I believe, although I have not checked, is a small bush) ... to be honest, most of this stuff is on an old spare hard drive, but that's nowhere near as fun to say.
Before my devastatingly bad failure at emigrating, I did a lot of internet related work (no I didn't research that) ... when the plan to leave was formulated, it became necessary to clear up any loose ends, pass responsibility over for certain projects, so I never spent much time promoting these things before ...
So, apart from being devilishly handsome, witty and a consumate liar, what can I offer ?
Bumpf on services to go here ... when I get back from a nice walk and maybe a trip to the gym :)

Aha - the first night of having my website back online since I stupidly (half asleep and suffering from a large dose of 'idiot') tried to update my website to Joomla! 3 without reading all the small print!
I've been up to loads since I last wrote anything worth reading, but ... once again, the time has go the best of me ... let me explain, 7 days a week I've been working for the last 2 months or so - it's possible, but it gets you a bit tired :D
Also, I've started going to the gym (yes really, I've lost almost 2 stone, and I'm getting muscles on my muscles!) - I've taken up Pilates and KaeKwonDo ... not very good at TaeKwonDo yet, but I am trying ...
I recently had some singing lessons too - one of those 'bucket list' things ... several people had made comment about me having a good voice for singing, and I thought I'd give it a go ... still not sure about the old voice, but the lessons were great fun (too expensive to continue) so I've got myself a guitar and a desire to write and sing my own songs ... watch this space ... admittedly you will probably be waiting sometime ... but, hey Rome ... Day etc etc
... anyway, what I'm saying in my usual round-a-bout way is ... I gotta go to bed!
Will make an effort over the next week to update my avid readers ... that would definitely be none now!
Well, it's been a long while since I posted anything on my site, and lots, and lots has happened since I did.
Things have moved on 'a pace' and it's time I updated many things ...
... to add to the suspense, it's taken me all night to reinstall my site from a total balls I made of upgrading to Joomla! 3 ... so stay suspended ...
... will get you all up to speed tomorrow when I have a little more time :D

Arrghhhh its almost moving out time ... still sooooo much to to do!
and I've still not caught up on my blogging ... I WILL do it on Sunday - was supposed to be carbooting, but my carboot expert friend has called off tomorrow as there are rain storms forecast ... which unfortunately means rescheduling for next Sunday, which was supposed to be a day I spent with my nephews :(

Managed to organise a video fashion show with Corinne today ... well I held up clothes to the webscam and Corinne said "Send me that!" or "Chuck that away!" or "Hmmm, it would be nice to have that, but I don't need it just yet" ...
Now have 3 piles of clothes to go through!
Again - going to complete the entry for today when I have a bit more free time ... so looks like Saturday :D
I'm not sure who is reading this rubbish, but the blog is getting hits (no lots) but hits none-the-less ... who are these people with nothing better to do?

Yay - I had my medical for my visa today - I don't like anything hospitally or doctor orientated, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out fine :D
Wasn't perfect ... there were a few hiccups (but not - thankfully due to any medical conditions) ... I've a massive 'to do' list to finish tonight, so I'm dutifully being a slacker and putting off todays post either until later tonight (its 22:11 on the 31st July) or maybe tomorrow!

... Yay - only a week late and I'm updating ...
Right; when I rang about having my medical, the lady said did I have 'Part B' filled in, now, I'm not the most interested party when it comes to reading forms, but I'd read the bumpf from the website at least 8 times and I was pretty sure I didn't need to have any forms before arriving ... its a complex system, but the only people who can have a medical 'before' appyling for any type of visa, are those who will be sponsored as a common law spouse or similar ... so, I thought there might be a problem when I arrived! ... so I set off with a heavy heart (not liking anything hospitally) and a selection of photographs and other bits and bobs ...
I'd been told I needed 6 passport photos - it turned out I only needed 4 ... but thats for later ... do you think I should claim the money back for the unneeded ones ... how do you think that will go down with the private hospital? ... lets see how they get on with everything else ...
Todays blog is delayed due to further attempts to find employment when I up sticks to a little town near Exeter ... witty banter and journalistic observations will resume on the morrow ...

... oh no, I said witty banter, now I feel pressured to be amusing ... no, hang on, nobody reads this and Corinne already knows I'm a morose misery guts, so I think I might have nothing to worry about ...
Again, its much later than the 30th whilst I write this, so bear with me while I dig through the depths of my rusty old, cobweb filled memory, or alternatively, I can look at the electronic data tags that my mobile phone puts on my photos, and remember what I did that way!

Ok ... by analysing the photos, I can tell you I was at work on Monday - I can tell you I didn't want to be there, I've been working here for 6 years and we've always been paid on the last friday of every month ... until recently, where now, apparently, its always been officially the last day of the month that we get paid ... oh, thats convenient ... don't get me wrong, I understand the economy is not doing too well, and everybody is suffering, but hey, hang on a minute ... it's not my fault ... and more importantly, I'm not an idiot!
... so pay me on time!
... that being said, I saw this at work ... thought you might like this Corinne ...
... for those of you that don't understand, Emmet is a derogatory term for non-Cornish person (usually, but not exclusively used to refer to tourists) ... so you have a sticker in your car to indicate its not your fault that the person behind you is stuck in traffic in the infamously narrow Cornish roads ... its the guy in front of you!
Incidently, Devonians use the term "Grockle" to mean a similar thing! - Email me your local words for interlopers! ... Is there one for Brits who end up in Ottawa?

... finally, as I've not posted one for a while, he's a photo of Bob ... its a rubbish photo, because Jake and he really don't like being photographed, and if you try to use the flash they get annoyed ... so here is grainy photo :D
... he like the fact there are boxes everywhere ... he doesn't like the fact things (in particular furniture) keep being moved about, then weird people he doesn't know come and take them away ... he's fast running out of stuff to scratch on!
Sunday - I should have been paid on friday ... still no money in my account ... time to change my plans I think ...
I'm going to finish this entry tomorrow ... but I can report I had a nice rowing trip at Newton Ferrers (I still suck at rowing, but I enjoyed the little trip) ...

... ok, its now actually the 8th August and I've just found time to complete these blog entries! You cannot believe the amount of stuff you have to do if you are moving BUT not taking much with you ... I'm guessing what I've normally done is just throw everything I can't be too bothered about into boxes and bags and shift it from one place to another - where it no doubt will languish until the next move :D
When you have to actually sort through each item you have stored away for eons, it takes some time!
Can you imagine how exiciting sorting through all my socks has been?
Anyway ... back to what I did on the 29th July 2012 ...
... I saw this around the corner from work, and it made me think of my house now I'm selling everything - this is what it will look like if I don't get rid of stuff!
... LOL
... my colleague at work had rung the night before to tell me the clutch on his car had died and could I pick him up in the morning ... no problem ... he was going to make his own way home, but I said I'd be happy to drop him off, as long as he showed me where I could take some photos (he lives in Newton Ferrers, a very pretty place ... but with limited parking!)
... His idea of pretty was to make me row (a not very stable plastic, flat bottomed boat up the River Yealm) ... don't get me wrong, it was really pretty, I'm just not that good at rowing ... to be honest I got better, but still not Olympic standard by any stretch!
Here's a quick snap I took of the river, first thing when I picked him up ... I have some nice photos from later in the day ... I'll sort these as soon as I've posted them on my Flickr account :D
... This is one of the reasons I'm leaving the country ... Newton Ferrers is really pretty, and really expensive to live in ...
Need more space ... and cheaper land !
Corinne's Birthday
... I have to admit I was a bit rubbish on the phone when Corinne rang ... I'm not sure what it is about feeling a bit crumby that makes humans act like their problems are caused by others ... I've been missing her patience and calmness and rather than appreciate these things and hope to once more feel that sense of zen she fills me with, I have to be a bit offish ...
I'm a dumbass and though things are a little stressful, I beg her forgiveness for my selfish behaviour ... I love her unconditionally and I should have put my petty moans aside to wish her a great birthday ... neither of us really bother much with celebrations, but I suck ... I sent her $10 though ... I am generous to a fault!
